England captain Ben Stokes has given a big reaction to his team’s one-run defeat against New Zealand in the Wellington Test match. He has said that it is great to be a part of such a Test match and that is what Test cricket is known for. He also praised the New Zealand team.

Stokes, however, described Test cricket as special after the defeat. He said, “The game is the same as Test cricket. This is amazing. We were very emotional. But the Kiwi players were amazing. To be a part of such a Test match is very special. Everyone’s money was recovered.” Stokes further said, “One has to keep an eye on the whole situation. When Root and my partnership was happening, we knew Tim was going to do something. But sometimes things do not go in your favor. Due to the bouncer’s plan, he managed to make a comeback. I also saw it as an opportunity and I wanted to score 20 runs in a single over.
New Zealand made a strong comeback
Stokes gave the credit of the victory to Wagner. The captain of the English team said, “Wagner and Southee came up with a plan. It proved bad for us. Disappointing to lose here. Our last season was great. After a few months, we are going to play the Ashes. We have to see what we can do.
England’s first innings
In this match, England had a heavy upper hand for four days. England had scored 435 runs in the first innings. In response to this New Zealand could only score 209 runs. New Zealand had to follow on. From here New Zealand returned and scored 483 runs in the second innings and gave England a target of 258 runs. England could only manage 256 runs in the last innings and lost the match by one run.
